Audi S Models
Elaborate features, high performance, elegant understatement and high practicality – the Audi S models combine all of these strengths. Every S model has permanent quattro® all-wheel drive which gives it power on the road. The most compact Audi S models are the S1 and the S1 Sportback; the largest and most impressive models are the S8 or SQ5. The complex technology in the cars provides them with special dynamics, without the loss of everyday comfort. The chassis frames of the sports models have been extensively overhauled. Special features like electromechanical power steering have been especially developed for the S line. Further, the pivot bearing on the front axle has been modified and a four-pivot rear axle has even been supplemented in the back, setting the stage for especially dynamic handling.
The Classic – the Audi Sedan
Audi presents elegant and timeless charm with its sedans, yet keeping the emphasis on modern sportiness with its coupe style. The sedan is considered a classic and fulfills typical Audi criteria: the three auto pillars of A, B and C, a hard top as well as the typical notchback. The sportiness and the strengths of the Audi sedan are found not only in the exterior but also in the interior. The sedan is available as the A3, S3, A4, S4, RS 4, A6, S6 and RS 6 models.
Dynamic and powerful: Audi and its gasoline-powered engines
Audi is a pioneer in the research and development of gasoline-powered engines. Audi was the first automobile manufacturer worldwide to combine gasoline direct-fuel injection with supercharging in large-scale production. This helps Audi reach a significantly improved degree of effectiveness and more efficiency. In general, Audi engines are continuously being developed. The improved torque, the best engine power and that characteristic sound are the most important factors for engine fans.
Audi has time and again received awards for its outstanding work in the development of its engines. Since 2010, the TFSI engines out of Ingolstadt have repeatedly won the “International Engine of the Year” award. An international jury of motor sports journalists selects the best engines of the year for this award.
